**** ihave been using a Nuvi 760 for 3 years almost...throw a Ziplok bag over the damn thin when it rains....hell i have used it when it rained and it got wet and it still works fine....
Glide 2005 has a nice setup. I wouldn't go with the fuel door setup because I think it only tempts you to look down at the GPS, which can be dangerous. Handlebar setups are closer to your line of sight. I have a Garmin 478 mounted on my handlebars with a RAM mount. You can't go wrong with RAM. I have used their mounts with two different GPSs without any problems. I have my GPS hard wired to a bus I set up under the fairing. I won't recommend Garmin's wire connection. There is only about one amp going through the wire but it is so thin I had my connection break, I think from the vibration. It may have been a fluke but I would look at other products to wire it up.
As bfrank alluded to above, make sure you get a GPS that will work on a motorcycle. I have never worried about it being waterproof. You can rubber band a ziplok bag over it to protect it from rain. That's what I do with my XM radio and have never had a problem. I would worry about the vibration, though. They vibrate a lot when you are sitting at idle and still vibrate when cruising. I'm not an expert, but from what I understand, some GPSs use solid state memory and some use a hard drive. If you purchase a model with a hard drive I've read it is only a matter of time before you have problems with it. But, then again, you may get lucky.
I only use my GPS on overnight trips and it has come in handy numerous times for finding hotels and gas.

Do you have it hardwired or do you use the cig lighter?
I picked up a Nuvi 765T for under $185 right before Xmas. If it rains, I'll do the sandwich bag cover, or simply look at getting the AquaBox (which gets great reviews by the way). I have no doubt that it will stand up to a motorcycle vibrating. Heck, the HD radio is supposed to stand up to vibrations...yet so many people here report they break like crazy (mine hasn't yet, knock on Internet wood).
