When I look at replacement windshields and they are listed by size in inches is that just the part that's visible? Or is that size the entire thing from top to bottom?
I take it you're talking about windshields for a batwing? For the RK they are measured from the top of the headlight cutout to the top of the shield.
I'm not running the stock wind shield. When it's on the bike it's just about right. I also run a Tsakau, I know that's spelled wrong, aftermarket fairing and while I like the windshield height I can't wear a ball cap or it'll blow off. I'm thinking on adding an inch or two to the height but couldn't figure out how everyone is measuring them. So know thanks to this forum I know and can measure the one on my fairing an decide how much higher to go.
I just ordered two longride shields last nite. On sale-132.00 shipped for both. I ordered a 6in.dark and a 8in.dark. for cooler weather. I am about 5'11 if I stand up straight.Any one think I will have trouble seeing over the 8in.dark shield? It's a street glide with the stock seat. Thanks and Happy New Year!!!
wasn't a windshield fan tilll i bought my '97 sporty with one installed. i changed the drag bars to '09 883L bars w/ 6" risers. the shield no longer fit and i sorta missed the wind deflection on the freeways. so i made one that just fills in the handle bars. looks good- works great. suprised nobody sells them.
