I'm changing tires. I'm trying to decide weather to replace the wheel bearings at the same time. I have over 30k on my bike (08 Ultra). I have no problems with the bearings at all. They feel smooth when when I turn them with my hands and no grease has leaked out of them.
At what mileage would you change them for sure while the wheels are off.
Should I let them go until next tire change at 50-60k? What are most people doing with thier bearings at 30-40k.

Sealed wheel bearings should last quite some time unless their is an issue where the seal comes off and the grease lets go. Usually with sealed bearings they don't change them until it looks really worn or there is an issue. I would wait until the next time you do a tire change. I plan on changing mine at 50k just because. Whether they need it or not.
I changed my wheel bearings out at 100,000 miles. Not sure as I needed to, but thought it was time. At 30,000 miles you should not need to. I would also check your steering head bearings to ensure that it is tight using the service manuels fall out test. I change out my brake fluid every two years so you may what to consider doing that. If you do cover your painted parts with plastic to protect them from the Dot 4 as it will eat paint.

Thanks for the reply I will get that done. Winter is loooooong and I need to bond with the bike. I have the Mity Vac for that job
Remember though, if you have ABS you need the Digitech to properly check it/bleed it after you change the brake fluid. That is the only thing that I plan on having a dealer do (as it is 2 years now and I will be wanting to change the brake fluid).
