Been riding Harleys since my '86 Classic, Yamahas before that. The MOCO and the dealers have always been good to me. Sooooooooooo when I find something that works, I stick with it. .......Way too old to change now!

My story parallels Dane's.
I bought a Sportster in 1978 during the AMF days, and rode it from Colorado to San Diego CA. It broke down on me twice - once in El Cajon, and then on the way back home in St George Utah.

I sold it as soon as I could, bought a Honda, and swore I was done with Harley forever. But times change, and the next thing I knew I was riding a new 2009 Road King.

I'm not sure how I got here, but I am loving this motorcycle.

Had several metrics in my younger days and some shovels after that. I got tired of having to do the top end on the shovels. Hard to say how many miles I got between top ends because I never had a speedo or odometer, but I would only get a little over a year on a top end.

Sold my last shovel about eight years ago. About three years ago I got the bug to get another bike. I thought really hard about going metric due to the price difference between a HD and metric.
I think I made the right choice though when I got my Street Glide in June of 08. The difference between my hardtail, jockey shift, 4 speed shovel and the 96" six speed is remarkable.

I'll never go metric again.

I've been riding street bikes for a little over 30 years. I left Harley in June of 2008 when I sold my 2002 SERG and went to a 2009 BMW K1200LT. My SERG was a great bike and perfectly reliable. The best Harley I ever owned but I wanted to step up to a full dresser and the (then) current models didn't do it for me.

With the new frames and a real back tire I decided to start looking at Harley's again. I took a 20 minute demo ride on a 2010 Ultra Limited a couple weeks ago. I had rode Harley's for 15 years straight but never a dresser with the bat wing fairing. I was plesantly surprised with the fairings effectiveness. The lowers worked OK but you can only expect so much when the fairing and lowers are not intergrated. The ride and handling was very good and the engine performance was certainly acceptable. Will I be back in the Harley camp soon? Not sure just yet. A couple months back I saw a 2010 SE Ultra in the citrus color scheme. Frigging stunning! My dealer told me they have one coming in next month. It just may be another SE that brings me back into the fold!

Started out on a 70's Suzuki 550 two-stroke triple(bzzzzzzzzzzzzz). Moved up to a 73 Sporty with some hot Andrews cams and drag pipes. Got to know all the LEOs with that one. Then to an 81 Lowrider, 84 Lowrider, 89 Springer, 96 FXSTC,and now an 08 FLHX. Never minded wrenching on my bikes, figured it was part of the HD experience.

I'm kind of the opposite. Never owned a Harley until about 2 weeks ago. Bought a Black 2010 EGC. Living in Kansas I haven't got to ride it yet. I hope to hell I made the right decision. My Honda VTX and Yamaha Roadliner were flawless machines. I decided I wanted a touring bike with a V twin so that narrowed the field down. It was either a Harley or Victory and the Victory's dont do anything for me.

First Harley, '08 EG.
I've had 6 Honda's, 1 Kaw, and on second Yamadog.
Slowest bike was a Kaw KE250 enduro.
Fastest bike, 06 CBR1000RR.
Most miles in one year = Harley.
I've always liked Harley but never considered one because I was more interested in doing wheelies, jumpin' train tracks and goin' fast and not spending a lot of money.
Then I fell in love with V-Twins with a VTX 1300, but wanted better wind protection (starting to get old?).
So got me an EG and now I wish I would've got one sooner.
Fantastic road bike and I don't plan on gettin' rid of it any time soon.
Still like to go fast so I have an FZ1 in the garage too.
