only to return and you're glad to be back? Meaning, were you so PO'd at Harley at one time you sold the bike, went Metric, then came back and KNOW you have arrived? Just wondering..........
I did.
OR, you had another brand and bought Harley and you're glad that you did?
OR, you've stayed true to the breed through the good times and the bad.
Share your story if you have.
Owned a Roadstar, really liked that bike but bought my 08 RKC and LOVE it. Momma has a VStar but only a matter of time until we find the right bike/deal for her.......an HD of course.
Dirt bikes, always had em, love em but I am too crazy for my age on them so sold my last one last year, more room in the garage but I still think about them often, might get a V Strom though, wanted a Uly but that plan is dead now. I cant imagine going to a metric cruiser but wont rule out the Vics, they are doing a great jpob motor wise, 106" oil cooler, very strong out of the box, but I will always have my Harley.
A story about returning to Harley would be like.....
.....marrying your high school sweetheart twenty years later and
being able to wreak her every night and she gets up in the morning
and smiles and wonders why she just wasted the last twenty years of her life.
.....and you feel so good about it.
i had 12 year lay off but it wasnt because of harley it was because the laws changed here in cali u had to wear a helmut. i missed 12 years of riding cuz of a brain bucket which now i relize was stupid.iam glad i wear a bucket now cuz last month i was in a accident. this idiot in a cage pulled out of a drive way and didnt even look if anyone was coming. well yea it was me iam better now but it cost his ins. $6000,00 to fix my bike. they offered me $20,000 for my pain and suffering. i turned em down so at this tme iam going to give them a chance to think about there stupid offer. if not i guess i need a lawyer. sorry for the book. later
way back in the mid 60's, I had Ducati, Honda, Yamaha. I rode with guy's who had Harley's. Back then you had to spend money to make a Harley run and not leak. when we stopped to get a beer, I would always get a remark like hey what's wrong with this picture. It didn't take me long to understand what Harley stands for. I switched and have never looked back. Now when I pull up to a stoplight, People are probably thinking, how does that old man hold up that big bike. Then I'm sure they see the smile on my face. If you have to explain it, you don't understand!
THAT"S IT!!!
