modes can answer, but those do look like the Kromewerks Sweepers +2.
I think the 08's have the Brembo brakes which don't have that darn 1-piece soldered brake assembly. So you can either get a longer upper or make it fit.
I am having the tech look at the possibility of cutting off an inch to see if it would then fit. He wasn't sure you'd actually gain an inch due to the curve of the bars. Also, he didn't know if it would work because of the dimpling for the throttle housing. Any thoughts on that?
Here is my question I along with several others have installed the bars on the same bike and did not have to change the brake lines. Are the brake lines shorter on your bike than others if so wouldn't it be MACO's fault. I would have the dealership measure other bikes brake lines from the same bikes at the dealer then if yours is infact shorter I would contact MACO and demand an new OEM brakeline installed for free. Just my 2 cents.
What type of bars do have on your signature picture? I really like the height.
They are replica heritage bars out of drag specialties....$50 if I recall. Not sure on the height as I never measured...but I would guess somewhere between 7-9"
Wow! I drove over to the HD, had asked the service tech (manager was out today) to look at the possibility of cutting off and inch of bar. When I got there, he said he thought the brake lines might work without any cutting. He got the clamps for the throttle/brake housing, changed the angle that the brake line went into the housing and guess what... it now works!!! I thought maybe it was too far down the bar from the end, but when we put the grip on, it fit perfectly.
I'm in business again, going to have the service manager order all the cables when he gets in tomorrow. Will post once they are on.
Modes, thanks for the offer of the brake lines and to measure them! To the rest of you, thanks for keeping this thread alive. I kept me in the game and the silver bullet looks like it hit center target!
Thanks again all. I'll find out for sure tomorrow, but things are looking good.
Watchfuliz how do you like your bike with the SE 255 cams? I put mine in last October along with a dynotune. Really like the way it runs and sounds. I've got SE II slip ons, so probably leaving a couple of hp on the table. Jamie told me I should be able to get 3-5 more using the Jackpots.
I've been contemplating changing to Rineharts. I have lead on a set for $175. The only concern I've got is whether they will be louder than my SEs. Oh well, that's another project once I get the bars on.
