Watchfuliz how do you like your bike with the SE 255 cams? I put mine in last October along with a dynotune. Really like the way it runs and sounds. I've got SE II slip ons, so probably leaving a couple of hp on the table. Jamie told me I should be able to get 3-5 more using the Jackpots.

I've been contemplating changing to Rineharts. I have lead on a set for $175. The only concern I've got is whether they will be louder than my SEs. Oh well, that's another project once I get the bars on.
The Rhineharts are louder than the SE's for sure. I have the Jackpot Dyno tuned on mine as my sig states. I love the way my bike runs and pulls. I had several guys I ride with trying to figure out why all of a sudden I was pulling them down low........LOL. I just told them I did some tuning on my PC III I finally told them about the cams. They ride lighter 96" softails. It wasn't till we got up around 70-80 mph before they could start to pull back up to me with my pushing all that air....LOL.

I have a set of used Rhinehart slip ons that the right muffler has slightly yellowed I plan to sell shortly. They still look pretty good though. They came off a bud's bike when he switched to a 2 into 1 Supertrapp on his 07. I think they have about 5,000 miles on them. He was running a little lean with the factory download on his bike is why the right muffler has yellowed. I had a set like them on my bike before I switched to the Jackpots. I took the baffles out of them and wrapped them with muffler packing to see what would happen, I used packing you get for dirt bikes mufflers. That lowered the tone of them quite a bit, but they were still too loud for my wife so I sold them and bought the Jackpots.

I guess I am getting older (53) because I have now added Jamie's quite baffle to the Jackpots. I didn't install the even quieter inner baffle though. I really can't tell much difference in the power with the quiet baffle compared to the regular Jackpot baffle........maybe not as abrupt throttle at take off if anything. The tone might be some lower at idle withthe new baffle, but the loudness is about the same. At speed though there is a big difference in loudness. They are loud enough to hear them without being too loud.......for me. Anyway, it is a tourer and I am not really trying to race it. I just wanted it to pull down low and the cams did that for me. I don't need to get every drop of power out of it I can to be happy with it and I am happy with it now.

My plan is to do the 103 when it needs the top end refreshed. I already have 36K on it now and I will probably do another 24k year this year which will put me around 60k by this time next year. I am thinking that will make a good winter project for me next year since I will do the work myself.

Watchfuliz,

Thanks for your comments. Since I put the cams in, my bike did get louder. My wife says she's ok with it, but we haven't gone on any long rides since then (3-500 miles) so I don't know if the interstate riding will be ok or not. Based on your feedback and other reading I've done, I think I'll pass on the Rineharts.

Even though I turned 63 last year, I don't think I'm ready for the quiet baffles however. Perhaps going to the Dyno Tuned Jackpots is the answer, still loud but not very loud. I know they will give me some more performance. I have heard the Rineharts and since you have also, how would you compare them to the Jackpots in terms of tone at idle and when cruising. Is one deeper, more bassy? In terms of bark when you accelerate, do the Jackpots even come close to the Rineharts in volume. I'd like pipes that have a nice deep rumble when idling, roar when you get on them and settle down at cruising... not asking for much is it? LOL

Thanks

You are describing what I got with the Jackpots with the quite baffle.....exactly what I got for that matter! I felt they were pretty close in sound till I changed the baffle to the quite baffle. Now it sounds close to the same at idle yet much quieter at speed. They still talk to you when you hammer it too. My bud that had the Rineharts that I am getting ready to sell rides with me and it is the sound of the Jackpots that made him decide to change pipes.......LOL I love spending his money On the last ride I blew by him on mine and that is when he said he was going to do the change. He put the cams in because of me too.

If you go with the Jackpots, order them with the quite baffle in them. I really love the way mine sounds. I believe with what you describe as your goal they will fit the bill perfectly. The tone on them is a lot more mellow with a bassey sound to them.

He went with the 2 into 1 Supertrapp for the look, power, and the ability to adjust the sound level.

Here's a couple shots of my current +2 Sweepers. These are powder coated black with +3 steel braided cables/brake lines. These bars moved my hands back 2" and up 2", they made a huge difference over stock. However, I got the itch and now I'm going higher for the appearance (I personally like the look of bagger apes). I just purchased a set of black 13" Cyclesmiths and Barnett Stealth Black cables. The black Sweepers and stainless +3 cables/lines were used for 5 months will be available next month, if interested PM me. Also, if you have a clean set of black (non-cruise) controls compatible for a '07 FLHX to trade, I will send the bars pre-wired (internally) ready to bolt on which will save hundreds on installation labor/time. These bars are notched for fly-by-wire so they will work on pre/post '07 batwing models.
