I'm in business again. The service tech got the brakelines to work. I'll have them order the cables (clutch, throttle and idle tomorrow - Yea..... see my post of page 3 for details
My dealer just called to tell me that the new Sweepers +2 for my 07 Ultra requires new brake lines. I drove over and I too don't see how the stock lines would fit. HD doesn't stock any longer lines for the touring bikes, so he would need to order a custom piece from Barnett... cost around $200. We looked at Drag Specialties and cobbling one together is about the same. My son did the work himself putting some mini apes on his SG and gave me the number for the guy that got him the t-fitting and lines.... talked to him and yep, around $200 by the time you get the t-fitting ($45), 3 lines ($90) and fittings.
Crap, I'd read all the stuff on the forum that said the guys who put these bars on were able to slightly bend the brake lines so that they could be used, but I sure don't see any way to do that! I think I'm going to pay the restocking fee for the bars and have them put my stock bars back on. Lived with them for 3 years and 35K miles, so they aren't all that bad.
Just disappointed... was really looking forward to this mod.

Reason: Update
Before you have them take off the bars, you might want to find out how much they are going to charge you for work already done.
$200 more, may just be the way to go. If they internally wired the sweepers already.
I went over and looked at the brakelines/bars. Don't see a way of bending them to fit. I called Kromewerks up and talked to their techie. He said they'd had no problems in the past.. were able to make them work. He spoke to the service manager here and since they aren't too far away, he said he'd drive down and see what's going on. WOW, that is service... guessing it's 70 miles one way!
The service manager said they had put up to 13" minis on some 08 and 09 SGs. Evidently, the later bikes have a diferent brake setup versus my 07.
I'm not doing internal wiring, so don't have a lot of labor in them at this time. Dealer will likely charge me less that an hour @ $59.
I'm sure hoping they come up with a way to route the bars. Will keep you posted.
Keep us posted. I've never seen a need for the brake line. On my 08 I did have to move some things inside the fairing, like I would unplug a connector for a harness and the plug it back in on top of the brake line instead of under it to free up some slack.
Patriotmc,
Which dealer are you working with? Thinking of going with these bars on my RK. Trying on some 1 1/4" T bars, but found out that it will not work with my hydraulic clutch without grinding on the bars for clearance. If you end up not using them contact me and I may buy yours. If you do use them I would like to see them on your bike to get an idea on how they will work for me.
