I have a pair of HD boots with zippers and don't care much for them. I call them my Frankenstein Boots because they are so big and Klunky. I walk like Boris Carloff in an old Frankenstein movie when I wear them. Abby Normal.

Academy has HD boots with HD logos and packaging for 30 to 40% cheaper than the dealer.
Example: My zip up boots at HD $129 same fricken boot at Academy everyday price of $89.
BDP - does Academy have a web site. ? Im in Canada - was thinking of ordering the Milwakee boots from J&P 6" zip boots.. here is a Question.. do the HD boots slide under the foot shifter pedal ? I were RIDGE Tatcial boots.. confortable and light..
Ist pair I bought at Academy had to adjust the shifter on my Fatboy 1 notch.
2nd pair I bought at Academy fit Ultra shifter just fine. Thinking about I still were the 1st pair now and then and the shifter is not a problem.
I was given a pair of HD boots for my birthday, basic, lace up boots. Think the price was about $130.00. Wore em for two summers and the soles are wore down flat. Wear my Red Wings now and am very Happy.Three years old and soles still look like new. I am glad I did not buy the HD boots.
I've got a pair of Harley lace up boots that have the zippers as well. They're comfortable and don't have that clunky Frankenstein look with the Harley crap riveted all over them. Unfortunately they're probably 8-10 years old and have been discontinued for the more stylish versions. The soles are getting a little worn right now. I won't toss them out I'll gladly pay to resole them. Just looked at the label and it says made in China. Obviously Harley's been outsourcing overseas a long time. They're great fair whether boots but as with most Harley foot ware they don't do rain well. If I'm going to ride in the rain or take a trip I wear my Sidi "On the Road" boots. They're expensive as crap at $325 but completely water proof, Gortex lined, super comfortable and conservatively styled. At least they're made in Italy by borderline socialists instead of China by communists.

My FXRG 3s are also lace-up with side zips, don't have crap riveted on and are waterproof as well.
