Audio Question?
Ok, Good point... Infact I have a "Y" adapter here..... Now how do I conceal the Aux cable? Hmmm The sat, can run into the fairing , the i-pod could run from the pouch adn into the fairing hiding it with the pouches. The I could keep a single cable tight into the radio. Ok, that would work. Now the only problem I have to look online for a aux cable that has a 90 degree end. The way my sat is its tight and the standard straight connector wont work. Ok ill find one and or make one.
Where do you get this "patch cord" to plug into the IPOD. I looked at Radio Shack and the local Target Dept store and did not find any cords that will connect the IPOD to the Aux port on the radio!!
somthing like This
I got ready to post a question, then found this thread. I am totally stupid on the Harley radio and Ultra Classic bikes. My father in law has a 2001 Ultra Classic and is wanting to listen to his own tunes (hes also a musician) while he rides. he didnt want to spend big money on a CD player upgrade...so I was doing some research for him. I found that his radio has a plug in on front of it that he didnt know what it was for. After reading some, I believe he can take any small MP3 player and hook into it right? It appears all we will need is a MP3 player....and a cable to go from the headphone jack on the MP3 player....to the plug on the radio? Anyone know exactly what cable or plug size is on the radio? Then, we will turn on and start the MP3 player, but what do we have to do on the radio? Any mode or anything to go to? Thanks alot. Sounds like a good cheap way to listen to his own tunes in lack of a CD player.

All those jacks are that you find on the Ipods and MP3 players for your headphones are 1/8" jacks. They are stereo analog outputs. When you plug the cord into the AUX jack on the radio, you will have to switch the radio to the aux source... IE CD, Radio, Tape, Aux. The way you select the source varys from different aftermarket radios, but I believe the stock harley CD player has a button labeled Aux. It should'nt be difficult to find.
