Hard to argue with that...however, on long trips, I've pushed the max. miles more than I should & it's nice to have the Zumo show me the closest gas station. It's kept me from having nice conversations with Road America!
This is nothing unusual. Sad but true. It's happening more and more. Truth is ... If they provided you with an 'in store' warranty policy, then you would be expected to see the return costs included in the original price you pay for that product. Especially when it comes to electronics. Mostly due to difficulty in providing a local repair service in every district around the globe. Typically, these products go back to the factory where they are manufactured. If they were to do such a thing, they would attach a suggested retail price that would reflect how far each and every retail outlet in the world, is, from the plant.
Considering, cost is one of the key reasons why people choose a product similar to others on the market in the first place, it would affect the sale of that product in the open market. So, they take their chances that the product will work properly at least until the warranty runs out. If you choose to purchase an item with this in mind, you should also consider the distance you are from that manufacturing plant.

May not be his fault that it posted twice in the touring forum. The site was acting flaky earlier and he may have hit submit twice thing it was hosed. His post times were 8:48 and 8:50 so I would write it off as a system issue. I hope some attitudes improve when the weather warms up.....
I will give the OP the benefit of a glitch here but perhaps some should read the rules... No apologies for an attitude whether perceived or implied.
4. Double posting is not allowed and can result in the deletion of one or both posts. Double posting is defined as posting the same information in two or more separate forums. We understand that some topics might fit into more than one forum. Please try to pick the best one. In addition, please do not post in the same thread back to back (another version of double posting), if you have something more to add, edit your post, don't post twice in a row in a thread.
I don't see too many shooting at all the people posting completely off topic junk in the touring section. It seems to be accepted all the time here and blamed on the weather but this is what gets the attention?
