OK, got the rear axle off and separated the caliper from its axle post..

HOW THE HELL DOES THE CALIPER CLEAR THE WHEEL TO COME OFF OF THE ROTOR????

One hour now attempting to remove it.......I had my V-Rod rear wheel off umteen times without an issue, this thing is driving me crazy...............................

You can insert a flat head screw driver between the pads and push the pistons back and that may give you the clearance you need or you can remove the pads from the caliper. Thats the way I've done it.

What's that saying, if your frustrated walk away and when you return it usually will work out. Well, I walked away, posted the thread, walked back outside and after jacking the rear wheel up some, I was able to wiggle the damn caliper off the rotor.

After wrestling with the 240 tire on the V-Rod, the 180 was a piece of cake to remove from under the fender.

Off to the dealer tomorrow for new wheel bearings and then the fun begins on the install.
