>>The higher lift of the 525 cam is going to allow more fuel/air to enter the combustion chamber which will increase compression to some extent. Put more mix in the same size chamber it becomes harder to compress.<<
Without a blower or turbo all the air you're going to get is what the piston sucks in (always the same), I don't care if you take the valves clear out........

Not sure I follow you on that one Mark. I don't believe a stock engine is operating at 100% efficiency. If you push a valve farther into the combustion chamber and hold it open longer, how can more air not get in. In other words, what's the point of higher lift cams?
Hey Phil didn't you use to use a lot a Headquarters Stuff.
When did you try T-Mans cams Etc.
I got the TW6 cams in a 9.8 compression build, they do pretty good.
I would also love to hear some feedback from anyone who has run a T-man 525 cam in a stock top end as a "bolt in cam"....... there is so much feedback on the TW6-6 but I cant find anything on the TR525.
The point of higher lift cams and manipulating the overlap and duration is for cylinder fill, getting the most air/fuel possible, but the compression does not increase, cylinder volume is the same.
edit: I think we're hung up on terminologies and I also think it rains alot here.....
when/if the sun shines lets have a beer.

I am amazed at all the cam posts on this sight, It's almost comparable to all the bitching people where doing when the 07's came out.
The cam thing has been beaten to death and any question that needs to be asked has already been answered 25 times.
I think everyone should just post there dyno sheets and list there add ons as a comparison, bottom line #'s tell the story.

I agree with you 100%.... until that last line..... Numbers DO NOT tell the whole story, you can have great peak numbers and a bike that doesn't ride all that well, rough at low rpm and has terrible drivability. Peak numbers mean nothing compared to how smooth the bike is and how nicely the powerband kicks in.... JMO
