Now THAT'S a Harley.

I have a bone-stock and all original '82 FXE (except for aftermarket pipes, which I'm in the process of replacing with OEM's) . I love it!

We had "Old School" then because we didn't know any better! We didn't know about electric starts, Electronic ignition, disc brakes, or anything hyraulic for that matter.

Old school was demanding, but yet simple. Most stuff from that era was easily fixed and cheaply most of the time. We didn't use books or manuals to fix them....we just knew what to do.

I like old school.....but wouldn't dare go back. I do however enjoy watching movies like Easy Rider though. Reminds me of good times and younger days! Certainly different today!

Pretty much says it all! Back when I first started riding Harleys, there were no Ultra anythings.Just bikes with motors, trans, bags, shield, luggage racks, tool pouches or boxes, post seats.Period! "Old School"!!! Helmets were also very optional, then never realized one day they would be manditory.Damn progress!!!

"Real" Old School in our world has got to that guy I passed a couple of weeks ago on a country road riding what was essentially a motorized bicycle but with Harley-Davidson on the side of it!

I'm guessing that thing was about a 1912 vintage Harley. And even that was New School in its day.

Change changes.

"Old School" was back in the 50's, 60's and 70's, when You wanted to customize Your bike, You either modified or made Your own parts , then take them to the local chrome shop and have them triple custom plated. You also learned how to do a custom paint job with a rattle can. Nowaday's most biker's just let thier dealer or indy take care of it!.... Old School Biker!

I remember old school. I had a lot of fun when I could bet the bike to run right. I spent to much time making adjustments and repairs.
It's nice to look back but I don't want to go back.
