Default Handlebar back position on FLHX

I'm looking to get my hands back a little for a more comfortable riding position while still being able to use the stock FLHX mirrors.
I ride a 08 FLHX and am 5'8"
what bar would you suggest.
also I'm not into the ape or type of bar that put's your hands up, looking for back hand position only. I want my hands behind the fairing.

Most bars will intrude on your mirrors unless you go high enough to get your hands above them. I was the same way you are about not wanting to change mirrors BUT I did it anyway, big BIG difference in comfort and control. Well worth the mirror change to perch mount. I did Wild 1's 575 never looked back

What length cable did you put on when you changed the bars?

I ride an '02 ultra and wanted a better riding position. I went with the 2" pull backs and I love them. Because I did not like the position of the stock mirrors with the new bars, I went to the fairing mounted mirrors that you have and love them. About the only other change you would have to make is a new clutch cable to make up for the extra length. Harley makes a 2" longer clutch cable to go with the application. Don't know how it will effect your fly-by-wire throttle. Good luck.
