I've been using Marvel Mystery Oil this last year. Got tired of varying amounts of ethanol with probably less octane then advertised. So far top end running quieter and cooler then without. No real notice in power. Plugs clean.
Before someone starts to rag on this, started using this oil when shovels ran on leaded gas and gov'nt changed over to unleaded. Worked fine with the shovel, seems to run well now.
MMO is great stuff, but your octane is slightly lower while running it.
I use it once in a while just to clean stuff out.
UPDATE:
I have retracted my earlier comment because after much though i have decided that i in no way wish to offend you or cause you any distress...Though it was a good one, it in no way was positive and truly was a smart azz remark! I hope you get the answer you seek in a positive tone!! In the future i may not be able to refrain from expressing my true thoughts and feelings towards your question or statement,I hope you will understand and not take it personal.Have a nice day....
R-Dub - You been drinking again?? LMAO...I would've liked to seen that post
My old bike LOVES high octane fuel (ironhead). It runs best on 100ll aviation gas. I can tell a huge difference when running it also.
The EVO Roadking runs best with 93 right out of the pump. I can tell a difference when running the 87 in that it will knock if I accelerate too quickly at low rpms. It also runs rougher. I think it would run even better with higher octane fuel. Most high compression engines do run best with the highest stuff you can get.
I agree with FAAST ED. I took a ride out to the 105th in wis. I took a large bottle of lucas booster in case there was some questionable gas on the way.
Thanks almost all. One positive on boost, Hmmm. I still think I will try it for a tank and see. I will then post my results. Almost bought a bottle today but it stated it treated up to 15 gallons and I wanted to hear what you all had to say first. Guess If I do try it I will use a third of a bottle. Just filled up and a few days of crappy weather coming up so I will let you know my findings when I get results. God bless you all, regardless of what you held back or your negative responses..... God loves us all but you have to let him into your heart!!!!
Back when gas hit $4.00 per gallon, I switched to the cheapest gas I could get. Sheetz Reg. The bike didn't notice, and I've been running on regular gas ever since. No issues with performance, MPG, or other issues.
