Has anybody used, or is using, ACF 50 or S 100? Personally I have never used anything like this.
I use my bike all year but would like to keep it corrosion free without the constant washing (but I am pretty **** about having a clean bike) and this time of year there is plenty of salt on the roads.
What do you think of them? What parts do you spray on and what do you avoid? Are they safe on the paintwork/plastics/chrome/engine?
Any advice over the use of these products would be gratefully received.
s100 is a good product, I use their detail spray, wax, and metal polish. They make a good wash too, foamy and comes in an aerosal can.http://www.s100.com/s100_tcc.htm If this is what you're talking about it's safe for everything.
Thanks for the reply. Originally I was looking at the ACF 50 ( http://www.acf-50.co.uk/motorcycle.htm ) but somebody mentioned
S 100 and threw me into confusion. Looks like the same stuff so I will give it a try.
Don't know anything about S100 corrosion preventative compound but I have used ACF 50. Not on motorcycles but on aircraft. It's not cheap but it does work very well on aluminum surfaces.
FWIW I used to use S100 spray wash but it was very expensive. I found a PH neutral, bio-degradable truck/rig wash that sprays on, and one can wait a few minutes to overnight before hosing off-- it won't hurt anything.
The name is CT18 here in Oz, but just check the truck stops for an equivalent. It's a whole lot cheaper that S100!
