Touring Cams
+1 on the confusing as hell. Will add +1 in that this seems to be one of the more sensitive discussion points as it really hits home with personal preference. Not to mention, we all think we made the best choices.
I just completed my 103" Stage II kit and went with the SE 255 cam. I appreciated all of the feedback when I threw this out months ago, but will tell you for every plus there was a minus, for every like there was a dislike... think you get it. It is clear, there are a hell of a lot of guys out there that know more about engines than I ever will! I'll tell you, I went with the 255 based on my perception of what was best for my needs and reliability. I also know there might be cams that dyno better and perform better due to this or that.
Being a simple man and not the best around engines, I can say the 103" Stage II w/255 upgrade feels awsome. Just my two cents.

Those aren't "the best" numbers I've seen, but that's one of the nicest, flattest torque curves I've ever seen, and all the way from idle!
I have used the search engine, read hundreds of post and most are not answering the question at hand, some are very old and there is new technology out now. Also apparently the 200 9 and 2010 engines have some differences not found in earlier threads..
I worry about Wood's cams on the longevity of their life. Andrews and S&S have been around along time.

GUILTY!!!!
BUT.....................hear me out....
I bang in and out of this forum all day all week from work. I don't have time to go read 50 posts.....Not that I havent used the search method for alot of stuff cause I have used it.....but in the age of a fast answer and time is money I opt for an updated quick answer rather than read 50 old posts. Plus I really do like talking to you guys....not reading what someone wrote 3 months to a year ago. But thats just me.

Dave's dyno is a tightwad but it does run really well.
Ketoman, please describe how you want the bike's performance to be improved? I.e., do you want to emphasize the low-end and midrange, peak-HP (above 5000rpm), or a compromise between the two? Also, do you want a bolt-in cam that you can install in your stock engine with no other mods?
na, it's all good.
We're starting to see some more 103 builds, and it's good to keep the info fresh. This whole performance thing is a moving target, and yesterdays build is yesterday's news.

I am looking to stay as close to stock as possible (as the bike is still new, when she starts getting tired that's a different story), low to mid range, living and riding the mountains of Maine and New Hampshire on my daily commute, I want reliability and more power than is offered in my factory machine.
