Default Tweeter w/o the Pod

Hello all,

My GPS mount is on the fairing. Right next to the area where the Hawg Tweeter Pod is supposed to be mounted. And with the GPS in place, it's just 3/4" shy, as the tweeter pod tapers onto the fairing. My mount is on the far left flat area, right underneath the wind shield. I hope this make sense since I never figure out how to pose pics.

Basically I simply can't mount the Tweeter Pod with my current configuration. My question is since tweeter doesn't really needs an enclosure, other than cosmetic, can I just surface (less work) or even flush (more work) mount a set of tweeter onto the fairing where the pods is supposed to go?

Also, I don't really want to use a Ram-mount on the handle bar for cleaner look as well as when the GPS is mounted onto the bar, it blocks off the left speaker. Not to mention the 3 holes I drilled for the current mount on the fairing.

I already have a set of JL Audio XR tweeter (w/ X-over), maybe I can put it in good use. Just don't want to drill holes in the fairing just yet.

Thanks in advance,

The ones I have from JL Audio has a thin angled mount allow me to aim the tweeter, they only stick out ~ 1" at the highest point. I might have a harder time trying to flush mount them since that part of the fairing is not perfectly flat, might have a gap on the trim ring. At least that's what showing when I turn the trim ring around and try to flush it onto the fairing.

I took out my voltage and air gauge and installed them in the fairing that way. I had to make spacer rings bc the tweeters are 1" and the gauges are 2 3/8"

I ride an EG Standard and mounted Polk tweeters in the holes for the gauges.
