Default ATF in Primary???

I know some of you guys are running ATF in your primary.

Currently using B&M trick shift. I saw some Dexron III at Dollar General for $2.49/qt.
I just bought 10 ltrs Bardahl primary lube from Dennis Kirk for $1.50/ltr. 1 ltr=33.842 oz.

'04 Road King Custom, Mobil 1 Synthetic ATF in the primary, no issues. Change once a year when I change the transmission oil, which is Mobil 1 Synthetic gear lube.

I use Dexron III and change every 3 oil changes not sure if that is good or bad but I like to keep it clean, that is just me. Ride safe.

Amsoil Supershift. Change it every 10k, same as the transmission (which has Amsoil Severe Gear 75W-90). Shifts are smooth and positive, neutral's easier to find, and I've seen no downsides.

Have run Dexron II/III for the last 45000 miles without issue. The B&M trickshift and the Mercon makes it just a tad harder to find and maintain the friction zone for low speed manuevering.

I change the primary oil at 10,000 miles just cause it has clutch dust in it, but could go longer.
