The Sun News is running a story, about all the new events the city of Myrtle Beach has planned for May. It includes a poll asking which event interest you most. Included in the poll is bike week. As of now, bike week has more votes than all the other events combined. A lot of the locals think the mayor is going to have to pull a rabbit out of his hat, to make up for his screw up.
yea,but do you think porple will return after all the conflict there was around that rally.plus will they make it biker freindly or will there be too many regs.if that is the case i have no need to go there for nothing
They have proved that they don't want us there. Our money is not good there. We are second class to them. We can go other places. This is a big country.

So far they havent messed up Thunder Beach in Panama City Beach,FL. It usually a week or two before Myrtle Beach. They are still "Biker friendly" for now.....

I don't know why he needs to pull a rabbit out of his hat, he was re-elected this past election. However I will go and spend my hard earned money in any town around MB including North MB as they are no more responsible for MB's actions than a town in CA would be. I will not spend another dime inside MB, ever.
***** Myrtle Beach!!!
They made their bed of roses,
now they must sleep on it.
also they made it perfectly clear that they DID NOT want us there any more.
(insert one of them smily faces flipping a bird)

I guess I should have said local business owner's and employees. Most of the people who work within the city limits of Myrtle Beach, don't live there and are unable to vote. I believe the population of the city of MB is still a little under 30,000, whille the population of the MB Metropolitan Area is a little over 300,000. And a lot of the people who work in the Metro Area, don't live there either.
I'm with you when it comes to spending my money. I don't drop a dime within the city of MB, unless it falls out of my pocket while passing through. For the first time in a long time, I didn't attend the Boat Show (held at the MB convention center). Of course, they held it the same weekend as the Raliegh show. Had it been scheduled a different weekend, I still wouldn't have attended.
It's a shame, because most of the Metro Area doesn't want to see bike week abolished. The city of MB amounts to less than 10% of the Metro Area. You've got 10% of the people trying to control 100% of the Metro Area.
I certainly won't go back. They have been running commercials heavy on the local channels trying to get ppl to go to MB for vacation...wasting those tax dollars.
