HELP!! My 2010 FLHX fork lock is stuck. The key worked when i locked it, but now it won't unlock. Is there a trick that I need to know? The manual say turn the key to the unlock position, and then rotate the ignition switch clockwise. What am I doing wrong?
Skip is correct some times you will have to pull the bar to the left to unlock the forks. This does happen more if it has been sitting in the fork lock position for awhile.
there is no pressure on the lock itself. The key wont turn in the ignition switch to the "unlock" position. I tried moving the handlebars back and forth, but the switch wont budge.
Just got back from Iraq on the 22nd. Sure is nice to be home.
Same thing happened to my wife's '09 FLHX - in the garage. I worked with the lock for nearly an hour before I could unlock it. Took it right to the Dealer who ordered a new lock assembly.
By the way, we didn't lock it again until the assembly was replaced.
Heard that HD had a problem with these last year or so but thought they had it figured out. Guess not since it's happended on your '10.
I have tried all four keys, and none of them work. All four of them work on the saddle bags and the tour pack. The lock on the ignition switch will not turn with any of the keys. Pushing up on the lever under the lock doesn't do anything either.
Why are the dealers closed on Monday? GRRRRR!! They owe me a sunny day!! It isn't very often I get to ride in Washington in January, and I lost a day to a broken fork lock. Today was beautiful, too!
