i've knocked a few off jumping curbs. thank goodness for always carrying bunge cords. easiest way is to remove the stand from the mount. hook spring in the frame and the stand. then angle the stand into the bracket and replace the lock and nut.
Handful of pennies............Bend the spring over and put a pennyor two between each coil. In the end, it will be long enough to fit. Lower the kickstand and the pennies will fall out.
I just recently took mine off to paint it. Per the manual, you are supposed to loosen the bolt that holds the arm onto the bracket. Once you do that, you can move the arm forward, past the down position, and the spring will either come off or can be put on easily.
