I thought it would be nice to show the difference between the 08 road glide seat and the 08 Street Glide seat, especially since the RG seat is so much better and the fact that Harley decided to go with the SG seat on the newer SG AND RG models. I think they should just sell the bike without a seat and let you pick your own. It's almost coming to that anymore and it's a shame when you spend 20G's on something and the ride is terrible. Anyway, this is why I bought the RG seat for my SG and sent it away to MCC for the good foam. I had the double foam put on the rider and single foam done to the passenger pad. As you can see, the rider seat is not as wide and the passenger seat is twice as thick and about 2" wider that the SG Seat. Which seat would you rather have? To me it's obvious. Then again, ask your partner which one they would rather sit on when riding with you. That will surly be a no brainer.
I'm with you. I bought a new 08 RG seat from another member on the site and put it on my 10 SG before I had 200 miles on it. It is better in every regard IMO. Rider comfort is somewhat better (better foam?) and passenger comfort is night and day. I can carry a passenger now, before I could not.
Once I got used to it, I think it looks better too.
I have an 09 SG with stock seat and hate it. Rode my buddies 09 SG w/ stock seat tonight and it was so much better. Can't wait for my seat from C & C seat to come in the mail!
sweet thanks for posting this... also sweet car in your picture, what is it? Love the Crimson Red Color, you bike looks sweet (and just like mine)!
Thanks. The car is a 68 Mustang Convertible. She is one sweet thing as well. 302 4bl 4 speed. Oh, I do love the crimson red as well. We do have good taste : ))
The RG seat is a lot better than the SG seat imo and I have seen them all and I agree if you spend that much money on a motorcycle the seat should be a lot better than what HD is putting on them.
