I bought some for my bike and hated them from the minute I fired it up. Took them back off, modified them to use a Samson baffle and they are PERFECT now. Deep, loud, on the verge of obnoxious. Stock, they sound like $hit. Way too high pitched, especially when you crank on it. Sounded like a V-65...
I also have them and the SERT.At first I did not like them. After a 4 hr dynoe tech got them right where they should be,the tuning that is.Now with 4500 miles the pipes have gotten louder and a little deeper. The performance is good.I am also using VH tru duals. My .02.
I have Python slip ons and like them...good quality chrome ...they are slightly louder than I expected but I've grown to like them.
Pythons came with the 06 RG I purchased as a demo with 1,300 miles (part of Stage I), I like the sound, some popping on decel. But I admit I don't have a lot of exerience to say there are none better.
Have the Pytons on my 06 SG. Several of the wrenches at the dealer have them on personal bikes and like them. I like the sound and quality. They are fairly priced as well. Best advice is go to a bike night or similar event and listen to several bikes and then decide. You hear of folks changing slip-ons sometimes serval times to get the sound they want. It makes sense to look around first and then shell out the $$$$.
I have the Pythons (w/stage 1) on my RKCustom and I really like the sound. Purchased these for the reasonable price and nice sound. Everybody's ears are different, so going somwhere where you can hear a variety of pipes is a great idea. Good luck.
