Glad you asked as well as hear good about the SE plugs. Although it sounds kind of cool when I am say coming down a mountain in a 25 MPH zone in 2nd gear I get considerable backfire. I also have bit of a rough idle which I had to compensate with by cranking up the idle screw (increase idle).

ever since the splitfire plugs came out, then the platinum, and surface gap plugs, and now the iridiums along with the e3's. i had a guy tell me that his chevy truck ran so much better after changing his plugs to the splitfires. the fact is, the original plugs had been in there for over five years, so anything, including new stock plugs would have improved how it ran. i just had my bike transformed into a 103", and i asked the same question of the service manager, the builder at the same shop, and the tuner. they all agreed that stock hd plugs work about as good as anything, so no need to go high tech with plugs. i have used the R12-g's, harleys gold plugs for years with great dependability, and no issues at all. in all honestly, the new gimmicks are advertised very well, but it's all hype for the most part. another way for the companies to get a little deeper into your pocket. save your money and just use the stock plugs. this is just my opinion, do what you want. but whatever you do, have fun riding this upcoming spring.
