Sorry to be a post *****, but after installing my new apes, I put on my new stainless cables. I got the brake lines installed, all tightened up, and bled with pure brake fluid running through...Problem is, my brake is still soft, and not pumping up..No leaks anywhere...does it take a while to fully pressurize, or am I just missing something here......

You need a Mity Vac to bleed the system. You still have air in it and with out some kind af auto. bleeder you will be hard pressed to get it all out. You can get it Sears $35.00
I am using DOT 4, as suggested. Guess I will keep bleeding it. Figured since I was getting straight fluid with no air it was good. I will try again....thanks......

What I had to do was tie the lever back and loosen the cover and let it sit over night. This allowed a trapped bubble out. The next day did a re-bleed and it was good to go.
Are you using a clear tube on the bleeders? Thats the best to see if all the air is out. Also feather it slowly with the cap off the master and see if there are small bubbles coming up. I hear the idea Airborne gave you works really well
If you dont have a pressure bleeder , Install hose on bleed valve crack open small amount and let sit a couple hours or overnight . This has always worked for me with a tough front brake bleed. Just be sure that the fluid level does not get to low in the res. or you have to start over! Ride on man.
I have had a few stuborn ones from time to time and you just have to keep bleeding.
There is a mighty vac system you can buy for around $45, also you could try putting fluid into all the components by hand ,the lines, the calibur, etc and then try bleeding
again and again.
