Default Touring Headlights - HID?

I know this has been beat to death, but in searching the forum, suggestions are all over the place for the best way to improve the headlight. So I'll start with a few specific questions.
1. Has anyone used the Dual Bulb HID Headlamp from Harley (68094-06C) and if so, how do you like it. **this thing is absurdadly expensive**
2. I see several options out there for the HID kit that physicially moves the bulb reflector for Hi and Lo beams. Are they much of an improvement from stock?

I have a 2009 Ultra Classic Electraglide and the low beam is fine. The high beam is WEAK and need improvement. I saw one of the forum posts where someone purchased the Harley Dual Bulb Halogen Headlamp Kit and felt it wasn't much of an improvement over stock. So that is probably out. The Harley HID is too expensive. That's out. There has to be a ton of guys out there who have ended up with something that is priced in between the two Harley offerings. It's you guys who can really contribute here.

Only way to go with HID is a projector lens.

My question would be is what is the max wattage the headlight circuit can handle. There are higher wattage bulbs up to like 100 watts on high beam. The trouble is they draw a lot more current and may fry the headlight circuit or a least blow a fuse. Higher wattage means brighter light. So if you can run a higher wattage you will get a better light.

$419! Wow. I bought my first bike (1949 panhead) for $500. How much better is it than stock?

Consider this one;

Dual Bulb Halogen Headlamp Kit 67864-04A

Plenty of light and only $165.00 less whatever I got on Ebay for the stock one.

I like the looks of it too.

Cheapest way? Get a "Rally" halogen bulb from Candlepower something in the 100/55 watt range. Killer when you need it without worrying about frying anything. I road with one for years. Till I swapped to HID. No comparison. I have the HD dual halogen bulb (worse then the stock style) that I converted to HID. No need for the high beam. Trust me. It sux anyway.LOL
If you go with the bi-xenon style for the stock housing. The high beam is just refocused. Not any brighter.
With the price drop of HID kits. Just crazy not to convert.

Probably the best yet least-known options available for the money is to replace the non-fluted stock headlamp with a fluted Euro-code headlight, optionally with a 80/100W bulb. I've been using this arrangement for over a year and it greatly increased the "seeing distance" on high-beam and improved the low-beam pattern. For around $50 including the bulb this is an excellent option.

I've had very good luck with the Hella H4 bulbs, and have used 80-90/100W variety for 12 years, replacing them only three times in that period. I do run a modulator which reportedly extends high-beam filament life, though. I have had no trouble with wiring or connectors related to the extra heat generated by these bulbs.

Check out DDM's HID's did wonders on my V-Rod I've got a set for my Road Glide to but am waiting to do the 2010 fairing bracket change to install them. I also have the euro reflectors on my R/G. The H4's have a cover to prevent blinding the oncoming traffic. Thay also come with a lifetime warranty on their Digtal Ballast's also.
