Default Heated Gear Controller mounting

Does anyone have any good ideas on what to do with or convenient mounting for the heated gear dual controller on an Ultra? I have "clipped" it to the top of my chaps on my left leg, but don't really like it there. I am planning a trip to Alaska this summer and would like to have it more permanent as I am sure I will be using it a lot!

Folks I see have it velcroed or otherwise attached right at the nose of the seat on the console

Is it a belt clip or permanent mount? I just mounted a Gerbing permanent mount dual controller on my ultra mounted one **** and led on each side of the faring down on the bottom like next to the cig lighter.

I used velcro for the on/off switch and dual controller. On/off switch on the side of the console, and dual controller on top.

Default permanent mount

I mounted a set of permanent temperature controllers on an Ultra also. I don't have pictures of my setup, but attached is a photo from Gerbing of the controller.
I have one on each side, the left is just below the cigarette lighter and the other is on the right side in the same location.
The cables to the heated gear, and the power connection, runs under the tank. Connections to the gear are then folded forward and come out at the front of the seat.
The controller itself is a small board about an inch and a half wide by two inches deep. In the photo you can see the green board.

I've been clipping mine to my chaps like the OP, but I don't particularly like it there either, and since buying fairing lowers don't always wear chaps. I've thought about Jim's solution of a permanent mount, but I think I might put both ***** accessible to the left hand instead of one on each side of the bike necessitating use of the right hand. Maybe both mounted near the cig lighter or on the side of the switch panel. My panel is now full of switches, and even if not I don't think you could get two controller ***** in one switch slot, although it should work fine if you had two slots open. I'd like to see a photo of Jim's permanent mount. Also, is this kit waterproof when mounted?

How about the left side cover? That's reachable with your left hand, but you can't see it, and feeling the ***** with your thick heated gloves isn't that easy. OTOH if you separated them enough you could probably manage it.

Itch's idea is a good location, too, and that would work without spending another $100 on the permanent controller kit.

I Velcro my dual controller to the console just forwrd of the seat. It works fine until the adhesive on the Velcro lets go.
