One of the first modifications to my 2010 FLTRX Road Glide Custom was to remove the heal shifter.

Been shifting with my toe for 45 years. Caught my pants cuff on the heal shifter a couple of times, when stopping the bike.

Not necessary, and more room on the floor board.

I use the fold away heel shifter. I went a couple of years w/ no heel shifter and tired of marks on new boots or shoes ( although its a badge of honor ).

Removed it on my 04 Fatboy and also removed it on my 07 EG Standard.

Been shifting with my toe long before I owned a scoot with a heel shifter. I don't find it very ergonomically friendly.

All I've known was toe shifting till I got my Street Glide. Now I think I use my heel shifter more than I use the toe. I love it.

Default Heel Shifter

Owned 4 Ultras and took the heel shifter off all of them. Cover the end of shaft with a chrome cap from Harley and ride. Just my .02 worth!

I might remove mine after reading the thread and see how it feels again with only a tow shifter.
