I use mine all the time. My other bike scuffs the top of my boots, I like using my heel to shift.

I had to use my heel to downshift one time when I was on a long ride and the bolt vibrated out of the Toe shifter. Now that was a pain in the ***!

I use the heel shifter. Lowered the heel shifter one tooth on the shaft so you don't have to raise your heel as high to use the shifter.

Fluff means lying responses from guys who don't have a touring bike so are offering an invalid response. I didn't know that was hard to fathom.

took mine off as soon as I got it home the first time. Hate the heel shift plus it takes up too much space.

I had mine removed before she came home. A heel shifter just doesn't seem right.

I haven't decided if I like it or not yet. It takes some getting used to. "If" I decide to take it off, does anyone know the o.d. of the shaft so I can buy a cap with the correct i.d. to cover up the excess?

Hate to stray from the subject other than to bust on heal vs heel but the color of your bike is almost as ugly as mine. Just ask leohd.....
