I had to get use to it, but I use the heel (or Heal) shifter all the time now. I removed it for a little while, but didn't like the scuff marks on my left boot, so I put it back on.
I don't normally use it but it did come in handy one night late when my toe peg fell off! I was able to use the heel to up shift easy, down shifting wasn't too bad just had to take my eyes off the road a bit. Glad its there as a back up. Hopefully the new toe peg and locktite will prevent this from happening again!
Fluff means lying responses from guys who don't have a touring bike so are offering an invalid response. I didn't know that was hard to fathom.
I'd go right to the point - fluff could mean anything. Regardless I see no point in anyone lying about whether they use the rear peg or not- kinda pointless.
Are there people on this forum who don't ride a touring bike? Also there are non-touring bikes with a rear shifter.
