My RG has a clear bra. Ask around for someone who has a lot of experience installing them. I also have it on my fender and the front of my saddle bags. no chips or dings and the dolor comes through very well. Check with your local auto dealer or body shop.
I have a Bra on my 06 Ultra that I put on about 6 months ago after carefully cleaning and waxing the fairing. I have had it off twice just to make sure all was ok. I washed and waxed the fairing each time I removed the bra. Not even so much as a mark on the bike. I have the 2 Tone Cobalt Blue and Brilliant silver and the main portion of the fairing is Silver. That color shows the love bugs here in FL way to much.
Anyway the wife recently bought me Sirius Radio for my trip to Sturgis in 2 weeks. Well instead of taking the fairing apart and placing the antenna on top of the HK radio I was able to place Double Sided Tape on both the back of the Magnetic Antena and the Bra (no damage to the bike) and then use Velcro to place the antenna on the bra on the outside of the bike, not blocking any reception at all. Works Great.
I brought a HD bra for my bike & HATED the damn thing, it is 1) a big pain in the butt to put on 2) it looks like Sh*t, I went to stickercity.com and purchased the 3M clear bra and installed it, it is really not cut correctly, which I hope by now they have "fixed", but it does offer protection against bugs etc. and if installed correctly is also invisable,
I have a 06 Ultra Classic, Which is Black. I hate them Damm Bugs every ride all over my Batwing. I am going to try a Fairing Bra. Just wondered if anyone has had any negative issues with them?
I think it's much better to clean off the bugs after a ride then to have to have to fairing repainted when the paint scuffs off from the dirt that gets under a bra.
Have you ever put a bra on a car or anything painted?
Dirt, rocks, pollen, bugs, leaves.............they can all get under the bra and will just sit there and vibrate against the paint and ruin it.
No bra for me....................a can of bug/tar remover is much cheaper/easier.
I have the HD bra on my 03 EG. It is a PIA to put on, but it fits tight. No problems with scuffing noted so far. I did lay a good coat of wax on before installing. I'm not in love with the looks but it does cut down (stop) all the rock chips so, so common when riding here in Alaska. Just my 2 cents worth....
