Any updates on confirming that fairing off? I am going to try to take off ignition switch and cap first and do it that way. Thanks again for any info.

If you just want to remove the forks, the fairing can stay on.....If you want to remove the cow bells and install chrome ones, the outer fairing has to come off...

just did my front end over the wekend, but my front fairing was already off, def have to remove the key switch to get at the top of the forks, but also yes wheel, fender and everything has to come off. Also i believe some one make a mount that raises your front fender ever so slightly for a bigger tire. but sorry forgot who it was, try Fat baggers, but not sure.

Default have the dealer do it

I dissassembled mine and was going to re-assemble them until I asked the dealer what they would charge. For $44 they put in my lowering kit and assembles the forks. I just had to re-install them on the bike.
