'09 RG fairing input

'09 RG fairing input

I am having the dealer remove the front fairing from my '09 Roadglide to install the J&M 7.25" speakers.

While the fairing is off is there anything else I should upgrade or change?

Have him look and see if the outer fairing is rubbing on the top of the radio bracket. This has been a big problem for a lot of people. If it is he'll see a couple of deep wear marks or worse.

You could add a in dash oil temp gauge. would also require a oil change. Doc

I would conceder putting a Hidden Antenna inside the fairing for the radio. It would eliminate the antenna on the rear end for a cleaner look.

I did the install this weekend and did not see evidence of the fairing rubbing. What I do notice now is tha there is a 1/16 to 1/8 gap at both the top and bottom of the inner and outer fairing at the center. I'm attributing this to the foam that was installed with the speaker kit since all the outer edges are flush and the screws cinched up witout incident. However, I would appreciate any comments observations on any other RG installs out there with these speakers. Thought about emailing J&M directly but thought I would throw it out here first.
