What was ever decided about wheels with the 25mm axle fitting bikes with 1" axle? I saw where this had come up earlier posts but never read where someone had actually done it. Anybody know?
I have been told that you can change the bearings in just about any wheel to make it fit a earlier model.
I personally just swapped my from fork down tubs for a 2000+ model and then i can use a 1" axle wheel. As far as the rear you can swap out a 2000 and earlier swing arm with a 2004 or so and get the bigger axle.
I recently installed a front wheel from a '10 SG on my '07 RK. The hubs on my 07 were not machined to be centered. By that I mean, the axle spacers were different sizes and needed to be installed on the proper side so that the brake disks would line up with the calipers. The 2010 wheel hub is machined centered. The axle spacers were the same size. I used the axle and spacers from a 2009, and wheel from the '10 and everything worked perfect. Another member posted on the thread I had started about this and said he had bearing failure from swaping out the 25mm bearings for the 1" and using the older axle with the ofset spacers.
