Default Saddlebag Filler Strips

I have a 2009 e/g classic and would like to install saddlebag filler strips. I have removed the stock saddle bag gaurds and installed the chrome support leg. Looking at the picture of the strips iam not sure how theses would be attached or if i can use them with the supports i have.

Theres a bracket welded to the original support for the bag gaurd that the fillers bolt to. The supports you now have without the gaurds dont have the brackets welded to them! Not sure what they were thinking there!

The strips in that picture are the ones for 08 and earlier. The ones you need look the same in the rear but the mounting area is different. I don't know why the HD site puts the wrong picture up and makes it look misleading. Attached is the 09 and later solid strips.

What about the stock rear fender on a '10 SG? Is it all one piece with the light bars on the bottom including the fillers? If so, do you have a part# and will it fit an '09?

TIA

I believe you are talking about the streetglide fascia. Yes you can take a 2010 FLHX fascia and use it on your 09. There are some that are taking the CVO fascia with the LED lights in the fascia and using it on an 09. The fascia and tri bar light area is all one piece, but you need to add the light into the fascia. The pn# on the 2010 black denim FLHX is 59739-10BYM. The CVO setup you would have to get in prime because the colors are restricted. Brypink here on the forum is going to do that setup. The numbers needed for that are:

Stud Plate Assembly 59818-09
Fascia, RR Fender 60465-09
Stiffening Plate 60919-09
Envelope/ASY/LH/RED 69383-09
Envelope/ASY/RH/RED 69407-09
Wiring Harness 70338-09
Nut, Flange, Cruise 7499
Screw 3152
Weldment RR Fender Dom 60463-09A

Question

So, I have a 2009 FLHTCU - removed all rear rails...used SG side bag holder kit...

Will the 2009 - 2010 SG fillers work ?

Yes you can put the SG fascia setup on any touring bike. The tourers with fendertip lights have a hole in the bottom of the fender that would have to be filled though. The mounting holes for the stud plate aren't there either, but some have just taken and attached the fascia with 3M tape instead of drilling holes or changing out the rear fender.

They will work, but you will have to drill screw holes in the fenders. I believe you may have to buy additional brackets also. They also only come with antenna holes that get a rubber grommet or rubber plug. They are a flimsy ABS type plastic, so the holes cannot be fiberglassed closed. About $65 raw. I plan to cut the filler parts off and attach to the fenders, extend the holes and apply led panels with marine 5200 from behind. This will give me a CVO look at about 25% of the cost. I don't want the trilights at the bottom of the fender because it takes away from the wide tire look. Best of both worlds. P.S. Of course the leds will be triple function and fillers painted before installation. John
