Once I got my head around this (lean means hot, richer is cooler) even I figured it wouldn't mean better mileage 
But, that's a big okay, I'd much rather have the bike running like she does now. I was just hoping that I could improve my mileage a tad. I was getting just around 40 mpg before the PC III and some folks on this list have reported as high as 48 on this list.
