Does anyone have any info about the Accutronix +6 forward controls for the 09+ models? I could sure use the extra room but I'm not sure how my foot would fit on them. Size 15 shoe. Any info helps because they sure are not cheap! Thanks!
I've had Accutronix forward controls in the past and the chrome on them was crap. I kept them spotless and in less than a year they pitted and the chrome peeled and bubbled. The dealer I bought them from wouldn't back them and Accutronix wouldn't back them cause I bought them from a dealer and not directly. Of course they would be happy to sell me replacement parts. I'd probably just weld up some foot controls out of rebar before I'd buy another set of Accutronix controls. But that's just me.
To be fair, the controls did work nice. They just didn't hold up worth a crap.
I had a set on a Fatboy years ago. Loved the look but as posted, the chrome sucked. Mine didnt pit as Im not in a salty area, but they did scratch up badly from foot placement.
Overall they were very good pieces, just not the best finish.
It took my hubby 2 or 3 hours to install mine.
He'd never done it before & had to follow the directions of course.
I agree about the chrome being crap.
Mine are the slotted style & it's coming off the pegs pretty bad.
You can get pegs on e-Bay for a prety reasonable price though.
The rest of the chrome is fine so I thought I'd just pick up another set of pegs that weren't slotted.
The slotted ones are shaped like potato peelers.
The left one is rough on the top of my boot.
