FWIW, My heatshields aren't ceramic coated, they were powder coated by a guy in Colorado Springs. Three years and 25,000 miles ( I have three bikes) and they still look like new. Surprised the hell out of me. These were done before V&H offered the ceramic flat finish, these are glossy.
I had mine done this winter since I had the pipes off to do my handlebars. I used a local guy instead of sending them off, cost me $100, Just look at your local powder coaters theres bound to be 1 or 2 that do ceramic coating also.
I did mine because of the heat coming off the pipes, everyone including the guy that did mine claim it makes a hugh differance in felt heat, I can't say it's helped because I haven't gotten to ride it enough yet.
