+1 on the Arc Amp - just finished my installation, so no long-term experience, but it sounds great!

Biketronics, Hawg-wired, and Hog Tunes all offer in-fairing amps. J&M recently introduced an in-fairing amp as well.

Hearing someone unhappy with an ARC mini 125.2 is very rare; hearing someone unhappy with Firecap501 is, perhaps, unheard of.

There is also the occasional HDF poster unhappy with Hawg-wired.

Good luck with your research. If you have a permanently mounted tour pak, the Harman Kardon amp is worth a look as well.

It's VERY hard to believe you bought an amp from Wayne, claim it does not work and he did not do anything about it.

Two sides to every story.

Try a amp provided by Derik at hellsfoundry.com
I just got the 2 Channel with POLK MM 525 speakers. They are kick ***. The speakers are marine grade.
Talk with Brandon or Derik.

well believe it. he said he would send me a cheap resistor to install. a resistor which he never did send. would you want some one to send you a 99 cent resistor for something you paid over 500 dollars for?

Something doesn't sound right.Firecap has always been a stand up guy including backing up what he sells.
I had a few issues with mine and he was there to correct the issues, long after I bought it in 2008.
Have you checked the speakers?I had a similar problem, ended up being a bad speaker.

check out http://www.uniqcycle.com/ they have a small 150 watt amp for motorcycles. My buddy has it installed in the fairing, hooked to a pioneer unit with Polk speakers. Sounds great IMO. Oh, and it's cheap...$55
If you have any questions, just email them. I did and got a timely response.
