I went with the Wetsounds amp and a pr of 6.5" memphis audio speakers and I could not be happier, I am legaly def in my left ear and don't hear real well in my right and I have no problem hearing my tunes now, even in the rain at 70 miles per hr on the way out to sturgis this year, When my gal rides with me she's always telling me to turn it down and I tell her you have a bike if you want to ride with me, NO Bitchin. I only have to tell her once.
I've had my own business for going on 20 years and I have found that there will be the one or two odd customers you just can't no matter how hard you try make happy...
If there is a fix for the problem and the customer is not willing to try it, I say Fock him he is just being an ******* or trying to get something for nothing.Sorry but that is the way I see it.
if i am not mistaking.....john from j&m audio is confirming that it is a prob with the stock stereo....in witch their plug and play system fixes.....i am not a audio tech...but...i would bet a fair chunk of change that .....their plug and play setup either contains a "cheap resister" fix....or a even cheaper wire fix to change resistance....im not knocking any1...im just saying...
why should i settle for a cheap jerry rig resistor when i paid good money . would you settle for a hot wire on your new harley if your ignition went out. i would not think so. if i need a cheap fix then there must be a problem.i was offered nothing more than a 99 cent resistor. i like to get what i work hard to pay for. maybe you are happyw/ what you got. i just plain got screwed.
In a reply to all of the complaining I live in Oklahoma City about 20 miles from Wayne and I went to his shop last nite and dropped off my fairing to be mocked up before I send it to the painter and I am more than impressed he had no problem answering any of the many questions I had for him.I don't know about the rest of you but I have to be pretty damn comfortable with someone to let em tool on my bike.Sound and volume he showed me was amazing.Give him a shot you won't be disappointed with his systems performance and workman ship.
The new amp kit from J&M, which uses a very similar amplifier to the Arc Audio mini ,,, has taken into account the resistive load sometimes required by the HK radio system,, into the design of our plug-n-play cables ,, ,,,
read this qoute form john closely....i beleive your radio is going into protection and you will have same prob no matter what amp you put in.......john sais right here in the qoute..that some of the hk radios cant take the resistence change.....and that they use a different amp......and that they have put resitence into their wireing....it is the same fix that arc is offering....if it would make u feel better ...buy one of the plug and play cables....with a "cheap 99 cent fix" already soldered in place from j&m audio ...then enjoy your arc amp...i think throwing more money at another amp is just gonna cuase you more frustration.........as for the few palm size amps available...i dont think they are bad products and will work for many people but they will not put out the quantity & qaulity of sound some of us are looking for.....if they did then car audio guys would have them stuffed in every nook and cranny in their cars....those guys are crazy and would have no prob dropping 10k for a hidden system...this is just my 2cents...
I dont think the resistors are a cheap fix, just a way to help the stock deck run aftermarket speakers. Run a aftermarket deck if you want the best. I had several dealing with Wayne and he has always treated me good. Replaced blown speakers for me no questions asked. Hell even gave me some 6x9" for my bags that he wasnt using and helped me over the phone with my install. Do you still have the amp, if so just sell it and be done with it.
ohhhhhh....6x9....droool.....how do they sound?...what brand are they.......i almost changed my stock radio but i like the idea of looking stock and setting off car alarms with my radio plus i like having the base and treble controls at the handlebars....i just wish radio was 4 channel
