Ok, I know basically zero about audio components so I need some help here. Last year, I swapped out to the Hog Tunes speakers to use with the stock HK unit. It was an improvement for sure, but the speakers get some distortion if I turn the volume more than half way up.
Questions...
Are there other speakers I should be looking at that are comparable in price?
Is the Hog Tunes Amp enough power to give me good crisp sound at most volume levels and how much of a difference will I notice going from no amp to the Hog Tunes Amp?
I am not looking for the ultimate booming system, just something that will give me better sound when I spin some CD's or listen to my iPOD on the road.
There are allot of options, hawg wired, biketronics J&M. It really boils down to the end user and what sounds good to them. I had J&M in my lasy bike, there was absolutely no bass in the speakers. I am actually trying hogtunes in my new bike. You will hear a million opinions.
J & M 7 ź inch speakers, no amp, xm module, V & H Big Shots (loud) and I can hear just fine at 70 – 80. Oh yes, I have a hearing problem caused by 40 years and 20,000 hours flying helicopters.

Try a company out there called Bazooka, you can buy direct from them or order thru Hellsfoundry.com
They have the bazooka amp 2 or 4 channel. Just got the 2 channel with the new Polk MM525 speakers. They sound great.
