Default X-Stream Windshield Color Question

My Goal is to reduce the buffeting I feel when riding my 05' Ultra Classic. The buffeting is annoying...

So...

I bought one of the Long Rides "test" windshields before midnight Thursday 3 or 4 weeks ago (so long I don't remember) and I have not recevied it yet. I have a notice that it is in the mail...

I plan on sending it back for the 2.0 version. I am six foot tall . With the stock seat on my Ultra Classic my eyesite is right at the top of the stock shield. When it rains I have to sit up taller to look over it and when I "slouch", which is most of the time, I look through it.

I think I would like a different color than clear to hide the triple pouches and match the bike's vivid black color. The tallest X-Stream is 10" which is two inches lower than stock so when I "slouch" it will probably be level with my eyesight.

With my goal of reducing the buffeting should I stay with a clear shield or get away with a darker one? How much darker??

Thanks in advance for responding, it is appreciated.

if you are going to ride at night or in the rain, and plan on looking "thru" i would go with the clear. I have a few different shields of different makes/tints, and the only one that I can see "thru" at night with out interference or difficulty is a clear.

I am currently running a 9.5" Clearview with recurve shield on my streetglide that is the middle smoke tint color and I also have a 9.5" HD shield that is also smoked and I am 6'2" and have a Corbin dual touring seat and if I look over the shield sitting straight up about three inches and even slouching I look clearly over it. I love having the smoked shield and at night and even in the heavy rain it cuts down on glare. I would not go any darker than the smoke if it was any taller than about 6" IMHO.
