Clearview Windshield
I have a 2012 Electra Glide Classic. I was pretty satisfied with the stock windshield, but I felt it could be just a little better. My thought was that if the stock shield had a vent, a lot of the buffeting would be eliminated. Then the 2014 models came out and low and behold, they had a vent, albeit, part of the fairing. But, it accomplished the same thing.
So, I had the guys at Clearview build me a windshield same size as stock (12"), with a vent and no flip. Just tried it out yesterday and it worked as I imagined it would. Awesome ! So, if any of you are pretty happy with stock, but want it a bit better, I would recommend going this route. For reference, I'm 5' 10" and ride with a Sundowner seat.
Be sure and tell the guys at Clearview that you want a 12" NON recurve shield with the vent in the lower position. They don't offer this shield in this configuration, but they will custom make you one for no extra charge. This shield really works ! And no, I have no affiliation with Clearview. Just really happy with their product.

No recurve for two reasons. The first is that I look through the shield and the recurve would distort where I look through. Now, I know everyone is going to say that you should look over the shield. And for the most part I agree. On every other motorcycle that I've had (And I've had more than a few), I've always looked over the shield. But, on this bike, for whatever reason, looking through the shield doesn't bother me and in fact, I prefer it.
Secondly, I've had recurves before. On this bike and on others bikes of different manufacture. It has been my experience that recurves will actually introduce turbulence. I think it better to have a non recurve sized properly. My goal with any bike is to create a smooth flow of air. It's not the air that creates buffeting, it's the turbulence.
Anyway, that's just my opinion. I could be wrong. Just ask my wife...

I just put a 7 inch Long Ride recurve in my 2014 SG. Very happy. Buffeting gone and I can ride it without earplugs now.
