Default HD Leather Jacket Made in USA

How much would you pay for a vintage (1998) but new with tags HD Leather Jacket Made in the USA?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...K%3AMEWAX%3AIT

Yes, I've been looking for a light weight leather jacket and yes I could have bought a cheapo for around $100 but if I remember correctly, the USA made HD Jackets were top notch.

Yes I'm the sucker who paid $185 for the above jacket but I'm sure it will last me a long time and I like the look....

Why I posted this, your guess is as good as mine.

It's the related thread feature. If you scroll down too far you end up in a related thread that may be several years old. I have this turned off in my options but it's still there on the mobile site. You can't even get to these settings on the mobile site.

This forum has a few quirks. I haven't figured out how to get a notification when someone quotes my post. I get likes notifications if I view the full site but not on the mobile site.

The leather FXRG is the king of leathers. I think mine was about $800?

It is indeed. Mine is starting to look properly "fatigued" after 10 years and I think it'll outlast me easily

Back in '09 when I got my textile FXRG my wife got a Harley leather jacket, it was orange and black with a white stripe. She tried to get me one but I wasn't interested. I remember she got a mens so the sleeves were long enough. Last year I saw it in her closet and commented that I wish I would have gotten one since they quit making them shortly after that. At Christmas she gave me a NOS one that still had the tags, in a 2XT, which are hard to come by on a good day. I asked what she paid for it, she said I don't want to know. I was stunned. She said she found a guy on the internet that collects HD leather and he sold it to her.

I've spent a small fortune in motorcycles in my lifetime but when it comes to leather jackets, pants and chaps I' basically very frugal.
My first leathers were either Brooks or Reeds (USA made) and I did buy a H-D California Highway Patrol jacket (on clearance) many years ago but it has gotten to be much too large for me but it's still hanging in the closet!
The last leather heavyweight riding jacket with a removable inner liner that I bought a couple of years ago was about $300 and it was not made in the USA but it is a very well made jacket and will probably be my last unless I decide to go with a textile model.
I've had two "faux leather" (as in fake) lightweight jackets that I've used for the last decade or so and they just started falling apart so they went in the garbage and I' m now using a light-to-medium weight leather along with my H-D cloth/mesh jacket from now until the fall riding season begins.
I was going through my "selection" of leather jackets and I found a black, medium-weight leather "NRA" jacket that fits me perfectly so I took it to the leather shop and had a US flag placed of the the logo and a similar patch done on my leather vest.

I have a hard time justifying to myself why I should spend a lot of cash on something that will basically either be rolled up in a saddlebag or in tour pack or hanging in the garage or in a closet during the off-riding season.
I remember back in '90 or '91 being in the H-D dealership clothing area and my wife had me try on a H-D "Willie G" fringe jacket which "fit me like a glove" ! In hindsight I wished that I had purchased it (she encouraged me to) but when when she told me that it was about $450 I suddenly suffered "sticker shock"!!!!
Fast forwarding about 20 years we met up with a couple that we share a lot of common interests with (including cars and H-D's) and I was shocked to find that he/they had matching "Willie G" fringe riding jackets!!!
