I have been running these front and rear for ~60,000 miles with no issues. I was concerned at first and it bugged me that there was the openings but I forgot about it after stopping the first time. They are in fact floating rotors but different then some true full floaters. I have riden 1000's of miles in the rain with no ill effects.

That really helps a lot, many thanks. It still looks wrong, but behind my saddlebag I can try to forget it!

Howard, I don't fancy messing with spacers as I have enough on my plate at present. Sounds like the disc I have is OK after all.

Everytime I pull my wheel for a tire change I think I should paint the inside of the wheel black but as soon as it is back on I forget about it. They sure work well especially if you use LRB brake pads.

Oddly enough I have painted both my wheels gloss black!

Visited our local Yamaha dealer yesterday. Noticed that many of their new models have 'hollow' hubs which we can see into the middle of, except the holes in the discs coincide with the holes in the hubs. Looks slightly better, but still odd!

Harley makes two versions of them. From around 2000 the hole in the centre is larger than previous models, so you may have had the small-holed version.

I have had confirmation from my dealer that this disc is OK, so it is on and the bike back on its wheels. A few jobs to finish before I can actually ride it, but getting closer!

Thumbs down NOT Impressed with Harley !!

I just bought a 2016 street bob. I have less than 1100 kms on it & here are my issues-
1- the front wheel has been laced incorrectly ! 3 of the spokes don't fit in the hub properly and some idiot has smacked them down flush with a hammer or other tool. WTF ?? where did quality control go ? This is very poor workman ship.
2- I have lost the Dampening in my front Forks ???? I can easily bottom-out the front end ! There is NO oil leaks. what happened ?
3- My floating Rotor is very loose and wobbly. Its moving almost 1/4 inch ! When Im ridding & turn to the left I get a Shudder. Constant LOUD clanking while I'm ridding.
3- the Steering Neck is LOOSE. Its got massive play. Who the Hell puts these bikes together ?
This is a Night Mare ! I haven't made my 1st payment and this bloody bike is falling apart ! I'm Trailering the bike back to the dealership in the morning. My ridding buddy is laughing at me and telling me I should have bought the new Indian like he did. I checked his Floating rotors & they aren't loose at all ! Then I checked several other bikes, and there rotors aren't loose either. Will keep you folks in the loop as to what happens.
4- This bike has zero power for a 103. My old bike had way more power.
I should have never traded in my old softail. I had over 80,000kms on it and never encountered these kind of issues. I'm really starting to regret it. I thought I would buy a New bike and have trouble free ridding for years to come. What a fatal mistake. By the way, they sold my old softail the same day I traded it in. I'll bet the new owner is grinning ear to ear.
