I have a 2010 ultra classic. I have V&H slip-ons not installed. I want to put them on, but I am not sure if i need to get the V&H fuel pack or not? I am not changing the air filter or anything else. I was wondering if I should send the slip-ons back or not? I was told there will not be much sound difference.
You shouldn't need the fuel pack unless you change the intake as well, but I dont think you will get the sound you may be used to with the cat still in the pipes
If I were you I would swap out the head pipe with a fuel-moto (non-cat) pipe or other aftermarket brand. I put Rush slip-on's on my stock 2010 ultra limited and it sounded weak. I took the baffles out and it still sounded weak!! The stock head pipe is like trying to run while breathing through a straw. Don't bother with the slip-on's unless you let it breathe. I went with the high flow intake, fuel-moto head pipe, pcv, jackpot baffles(offset) and TW6-6 cams. I went from 69 h.p. stock to 100 h.p. and the torque is at 107 @3000 r.p.m. up from 60!! Just my opinion. p.s. it sounds awesome!

Sounds like we got a similar tune! I rode home a week ago Thursday from Fuel-Moto on a nice Wisconsin day, about 37 degrees. It was at Jamie's shop just sitting there since December.I took it down the interstate and I could not believe the ***** that my bike has now, Holy crap!! and the awesome big cam idle! My scoot is red on top and black on the bottom. You can see my cam change and Dyno sheet at Fuel-Moto.com . Take care, Bob.
Which pipes did you buy from V&H? You do not need to change the tune at all with just a pipe swap.
I have the stock head pipe and am pleased with the sound. If I had the money I'd switch out to a FM head pipe 2-1-2 and the V&H pro pipes. That would be awesome.
You can keep the pipes and if you want to swap the head pipe later.
