I keep the front and rear tire pressure on my '09 Ultra Classic at 40 psi. It may not be the smoothest ride but the tire mileage is usually better and the bike handles really well.
My rear tires last 11-12k miles. My first front lasted 39k. The second had 25k on it and still looked great when I swapped it because I had a new tire sitting around getting some age on it.
I used to fiddle with the tire pressure on my sport bikes all the time, but with my RK I just leave it alone because it ain't a sport bike and there's no need for me to be pushing it like it is trying to get every last millimeter of grip in curves and other stupid things like that.
