Thumbs up Here's a Recommendation For Amber Passing Lights

Like others on this forum I've been looking for a way to be more visible to oncoming traffic without getting too radical. I found these Nokya Hyper Yellow bulbs for $31.69 including shipping. They are a direct replacement 881 bulb required for my 2009 Ultra passing lights so no wiring changes and they're the same 27 Watts so no heat issues either. I installed them today and I really like them and while the pictures don't quite capture the difference the new bulb is a lot more yellow and I think will make be more noticeable in daylight.

Here's the package:

Only the right side in the picture has been changed in these two pictures:

Both passing lights with the Hyper Yellow bulbs:

The snow's still on the ground here and I'll have to wait for better weather to see how they look on the road and at night. I can see on the wall that they throw a yellow light that looks like a fog light beam.

Are your signal lights on or is that just a reflection from the flash?

All the lights are on, here's one in the dark no flash.

I see its been over a year since you posted about the yellow Nokya 881 lights. Have they held up ok? Other than the yellow visibility aspect, is the light output on the Nokya's stronger than the OEM halogen bulbs? I'm going to switch soon but am on the fence between the the yellow Nokya or arctic white Nokya?? Troop

Makes me wish I had a newer bike with those style bulbs. I put 3500k (yellow) HID lights in my truck for fog lights. Talk about an attention getter. I sure they make them for bikes too.

So you feel that you have better daylight visibilty, what about nightime road illumination? Are they bright enough to light up the road?

Sure are. Here's a shot with just the fogs lit up.

Still running the same bulbs and I really like them. I originally bought them for daylight running but the work well at night and like fog lights cut through the mist and fog. They're 27 watts and just as bright as the original bulbs but have a yellow tint not quite as dark yellow as fog lights. I think you can also get them in 35watt, and the price is now around $15.
